Founded in 1971

In 1971, an ambitious trio of young collegians recognized the need for a summer program that would give promising young leaders an opportunity to learn leadership skills. Now in its fourth decade, LYS has impacted the lives of countless educators, elected officials, and professionals who credit their experience at LYS as a testimony to their success.
