Olivia Messina, the daughter of Joe and Ronnette Messina of Destrehan, has been named Senior Salute by Destrehan High administration. Messina is Student Council senior class president, District Day coordinator for the Beta Club and a kickoff mentor.
She is the leadership team's student body representative, a delegate for the Louisiana youth seminar and the student reporter for NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune. She is a member of the yearbook staff, Wildcats Interested in Saving Earth, and the school's film crew.
Messina also is a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Church and a member of the church's Fountain of Youth leadership team.
