The delegation just finished their first involvement session. There are five involvement sessions that each home group will attend throughout the week. Involvement sessions are held in smaller groups, giving everyone another chance to interact with delegates outside of their home group. Each group is paired up with another group for each session and they attend one, sometimes two, a day. We will spotlight one involvement session per day on this blog so you can get a better idea of what they’re all about.
SPOTLIGHT INVOLVEMENT SESSION OF THE DAY: Parliamentary Procedure
Leader: Lawrence Williams; Assistants: Jared Hullaby, Sarah Grand, Sam Giberga, and Molly Salter
Parliamentary Procedure gives the delegates a chance to see first hand how a proper meeting is run using Robert’s Rules of Order. The order of the meeting and terms the delegates are taught are the ones used all over the country and even in the U.S. Senate! Here we encourage the delegates to take what they learn in the session back to their schools and extracurricular activities. Of course at LYS we emphasize how to run meetings efficiently, but in a fun-filled way!
Check out the Communication Connection photos below to see all of the great ways the delegates got involved and worked together as a group this morning!
Like we said, there are five Involvement Sessions in all, so check back each day for a new session to be highlighted.
