On Sunday, October 23rd more than 140 delegates and staff met at the LSU Union for an afternoon of LYS spirit and fun. We reflected on the lessons we learned at seminar, reminisced with our homegroup members and of course had a few friendly challenges along the way. In preparation for LYS 2017, delegates had the opportunity to share how they would convey what LYS means to them to potential new delegates. We heard some superGREAT answers!
Delegates also contributed a barrel full of canned goods to support the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. Through this example of service we were reminded that we have the power to make a positive difference. JoJo Pease, co-founder of LYS, also spoke and reinforced the message by reciting this poem:
I am only one
by Edward Everett Hale
I am only one,
But still I am one.
I cannot do everything,
But still I can do something;
And because I cannot do everything,
I will not refuse to do the something I can do.
Reunion came to an end with closing circle as we sang our LYS theme song, No Man is an Island. It was hard to believe our time was over but now we cannot wait until LYS 2017!
